- TI A chemical literature management system using ENDNOTE.
- AB A personal literature database can be a significant help in
- organizing references for planning, interpreting, and reporting
- research. This is especially useful if means are available for
- extracting listings from comprehensive databases and if selected
- references can be incorporated automatically into manuscripts. We
- report an integrated database system in operation in our laboratory.
- While the system we describe is for a chemistry database and certain
- of the sources discussed are specifically chemistry sources the
- system is applicable to any discipline. Our system is Macintosh based
- but the software involved is also available for IBM compatible
- personal computers. The current core of the system is the database
- management and bibliography generation program, EndNote Plus, from
- Niles and Associates, with input through Current Contents and
- Chemical Abstracts.

- TI Software for information storage and retrieval tested, evaluated and
- compared
- Part 3: End-user software.
- AB In this series, specifications, properties and test results of
- microcomputer software for information storage and retrieval are
- listed and compared. This article is devoted to the previously
- defined category of end-user software, sometimes also referred to as
- bibliographic formatting software. Eight different programs have been
- tested and assessed: Archivist, BIB/Search, Library Master, Notebook
- II, Papyrus, Pro-Cite, The Ref-Filer and Reference Manager. All
- programs run under MS-DOS, though there are also Apple Macintosh
- versions for Pro-Cite and Reference Manager. For each of the eight
- programs about 100 facts and test results are tabulated. All the
- programs are individually discussed as well. (Autor).

- TI Bibliographic software update.
- AB The author reviews software packages for bibliographic applications.
- The new versions of askSam, Notebook II, and Reference Manager are
- described and the paper points out the significant changes in each
- package. Then the author discusses three more packages: dms4Cite,
- Library Master, and Papyrus. They all are designed to manage
- bibliographic files and generate formatted bibliographies from
- manuscripts. They differ considerably in price, flexibility, and user
- interfaces.
